Starting out in the late afternoon meant we avoided the crowds and with the exception of two runners, who soon disappeared into the distance, had White Edge to ourselves.

The first view of White Edge as we leave the car park.
Gibbet Moor had been an alternative destination for today's walk.
The trig marks the highest point of the walk.
Looking back along White Edge.
I always prefer to walk the route this way round because of the views it gives towards Higger Tor
and Win Hill.
The paths along the edge were nice and dry today.
Looking across Stoke Flat from the end of White Edge.
The short uneven section on the descent towards the Grouse Inn.
Much of the path along Froggatt Edge is in woodland.
Once you are clear of the wood the views across the Derwent Valley open up.
We sat eating our sandwiches looking across the valley.
Looking across Stoke Flat towards Higger Tor.
Baslow Edge soon came into view.

The field behind the car park was full of buttercups.
